A Chance to Learn More About Ferries

With the new ferry service from Astoria due to start in August, now is the perfect time to learn more about ferries! The Worldwide Ferry Safety Association will hold a Ferry Safety and Technology conference, MarineLink reports, on May 11 and 12 in downtown Manhattan. You can find out more about the latest ferry technology, and what’s in development, like Google Glass Nav, a Wearable Immersive Augmented Reality Device that shows the presence of other vessels, buoys, and land forms and which is currently being tested. Listen to stories from ferry operators around the world, and take a test sail on the new NYC Ferry service from downtown to the Rockaways!
