OANA Op Ed Bike Lanes and Traffic Controls
The Queens Daily Eagle has published an op-ed by OANA concerning the new 250 miles of Bike Lanes the city plans on installing.
Because of the increase in alternative Vehicles (Bikes, Scooters, Skateboards, etc) the streets are getting more dangerous. Our members have experienced too many close calls recently, and we feel it is important the city is more proactive in safety issues. Primarily we ask that Traffic Controls (Lights, stop signs, etc) dedicated to these alternative vehicles be installed on the new and existing bike lanes.
Everyone’s safety should be emphasized. The rhetoric of blame should be replaced by common sense solutions!
