Phase 1 of the Astoria Park Renovation will begin in 2018

The New York City Parks Department has given Community Board 1 details on the first phase of the renovation of Astoria Park thanks to the $30 million “Anchor Park funding from the City. The proposal includes a reconstructions of the running track, at the center of which will be a soccer field that uses synthetic turf. Much needed new drinking fountains will be installed, in addition to bleachers and adult fitness equipment. The plan also calls for adding new trees and plants. Work on Phase 1 will begin in late 2018.
